Introducing Quartet Kalos

In July, I had the honor to join 3 of my favorite friends/musicians in Sweden for the Double It tour. When Angela, Anna, Sanna, and I decided to combine duos we didn't really know what would happen.

So what did happen? A 10 day experience I'll never forget! We taught a session at the innovative music school n3, and performed at four unique venues - a beautiful small town church, tourist center nested in a harbor, restaurant specializing in combining food and music, and a home inside of a green house.

We premiered a handful of new works and arrangements, and explored the combination of percussion/marimba, clarinet, cello and voice. Enjoy my newest compositional endeavor, Solstice, featuring the poem by Kathleen Kraft!!

Larson, Voice Sanna Andersson, Cello Maria Finkelmeier, Marimba SOLSTICE Light rail tracks disappear into the distance- sapling, cross street, strip of river, car with one headlight in the blackening heat.

What's next? Bring the Swedes to America, of course! We have a slew of ideas for this innovative, and I have to say, one of a kind group. Welcome to the world, Quartet Kalos!
